Dark Star

Should have settled on a place, where you’d leave me behind

Full of waste, never leaving, no longer seeing

And it’s the blackest room where I find myself asleep

Hit in the head, and breaking things

With the middle said, and the ending seen

And they are fireworks, raining down through the pictures

Of our highest worth, bringing low our dead ambitions

And it’s the coldest night, where we look and see no further

Because of the darkest stars, that blind us with their firelight

Wonder how long it’ll take, for the children to

Wake up

Open eyes, closed mouth, little said

Heart rate up, and out of bed

Hit in the head and breaking things,

With the middle said, and the ending seen

And they are fireworks, raining down through the pictures

Of our highest worth, bringing low our dead ambitions

And it’s the coldest night, where we look and see no further

Because of the darkest stars, that blind us with their firelight
